A Rich Tradition Reignited
Originally launched in the early 1980s, the ICSF Inter-Regional Tournament—known to many as “The Italian League”—became one of the most iconic soccer competitions in the region. Spanning several weeks each season, it culminated in a televised final at Swangard Stadium, with matches also hosted at Adanac Park and Burnaby Heights Park. Hundreds of passionate supporters gathered weekly to witness the best in local Italian-Canadian soccer.
At its peak, nearly a dozen regional teams representing provinces across Italy competed, showcasing elite talent from across the Lower Mainland. The tournament became a cornerstone of the local soccer landscape—a true celebration of Italian pride, fierce competition, and unforgettable moments.
After an incredible run, the tournament paused in the mid-1990s—but legends never fade.
The Comeback Story
In 2019, after nearly 25 years, the ICSF Conwest Coppa Italia made its triumphant return—revived as a fast-paced three-day tournament where it all began: Adanac Park.
Eight regional teams—Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Molise, Sicilia, and Veneto—battled it out in an exciting 8v8 format. The result was a spectacular revival, with hundreds of supporters filling the park and reigniting the passion, pride, and spirit of Italian soccer.
2026: The Next Chapter
The ICSF Conwest Coppa Italia 2026 promises to raise the bar once again.
This year’s competition features Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Friuli, Puglia, Sicilia, and Veneto—all chasing glory and looking to dethrone the defending 2025 champions, Team Veneto.
Only one team will lift the coveted Coppa and etch their name into history.
Across the weekend, fans can expect not only top-level soccer but a full festival experience featuring a live DJ, a 50/50 draw, authentic Italian food, and a lively beer garden with a big screen showing FIFA World Cup games.
